    Glocality is welcoming submissions! 

    Glocality, a student-faculty-run multidisciplinary undergraduate academic journal, is now accepting submissions! The journal offers a platform to undergraduate students to share their work with the scholar community and practitioners worldwide. We accept submissions in the form of:

    • High quality empirical and theoretical research papers
    • Case studies
    • Essays

    We want to promote academic and scientific applied research that explores the relationship between local and global among undergraduate students and create critical glocal thinking to deal with the challenges ahead of us. We aim to create young schools of thought and develop innovative approaches, solutions and technologies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Therefore, we welcome and acknowledge papers from students who bring more insight to sustainable development not only for the academic community but also for practitioners.

    Glocality is published online and is 100% open access. Articles are published as soon as they are ready, post-editorial acceptance, thus ensuring authors do not experience unnecessary delay to their publication. All papers are peer-reviewed by international experts and academics.

    Papers can focus on any of the social, economic, and ecological dimensions of sustainable development:

    Society

    • Goal 1. End poverty in all its forms everywhere
    • Goal 2. End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
    • Goal 3. Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
    • Goal 4. Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
    • Goal 5. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
    • Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
    • Goal 11. Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
    • Goal 16. Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels

     Economy

    • Goal 8. Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
    • Goal 9. Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialisation and foster innovation
    • Goal 10. Reduce inequality within and among countries
    • Goal 12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

    Ecology

    • Goal 6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
    • Goal 13. Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
    • Goal 14. Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
    • Goal 15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

    Partnership and collaboration

    • Goal 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development

    We are happy to announce that Glocality will be relaunching this September!

    Glocality aims to promote academic and scientific applied research among undergraduate students and create critical glocal thinking to deal with the challenges ahead of us, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals.

    Glocality welcoming submissions

    Glocality, a student -faculty-run multidisciplinary undergraduate academic journal, offers students and alumni from universities of applied sciences around the world, a serious scientific tool to share their knowledge with the scholar community worldwide, in the form of:

    • High quality empirical and theoretical research papers
    • Case studies
    • Essays


    We want to promote academic and scientific applied research among undergraduate students and create critical glocal thinking to deal with the challenges ahead of us in the disciplines of Health, Social Entrepreneurship, Civil Society and Urban Dynamics. We aim to create innovative and young schools of thought. Therefore we welcome and acknowledge papers from students who bring more insight into those disciplines not only for the academic community but for active practitioners in the mentioned fields.

    All papers are peer-reviewed by international experts and academics.

    The Journal publishes in online version, but printed versions are available on demand.

    Suitable themes per topic include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Social Entrepreneurship: Social innovation, social product development, social marketing, social business models, new product marketing, sprint planning, transformative management, social change management, corporate social responsibility, sustainable business models, environment management, etc.
    • Health: project management and planning in health systems, health ethics, aging population, health local, national and transnational systems and health policies, health behaviour, health education, etc.
    • Urban Dynamics: urban studies, urban development, place branding and city marketing, urban sociology, human ecology, urban landscapes, migration, social stratification, urban innovation, sustainable cities, smart cities, urban economy, city management, city resources, etc.
    • Civil Society: new roles of civil society, form of governments, citizenship/identity, new citizens in glocal cities, conflict resolution, civil communities, NGOs, NPOs, PVOs,Policies, Trade Unions, citizen journalism, etc.
